WHAT WE BELIEVE
We the people of Harvest Center are part of a church made up of believers from all walks of life, joined together to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that the following elements are essential to a full, spirit-led life style:
-
The Bible is the verbally inspired, inerrant Word of God
-
God is an eternal Being, existing in three Persons; namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
-
Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life, became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins by being crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is currently at the right hand of His Father as our mediator and intercessor.
-
We as Human beings could not fulfill the price paid for our eternal salvation. We have fallen short of the mark therefore making our repentance necessary to be forgiven.
-
Through faith in Jesus' precious blood, we are justified, regenerated, and born again.
-
As the Holy Spirit dwells in our heart at salvation, He promotes the work of sanctification or setting apart in our lives.
-
A holy, moral lifestyle should be the normative for the blood-bought believer.
-
As believers, we have been given the promise of the Holy Spirit. It is through His baptism that we are endued with power from on high for service. We believe this baptism is initially evidenced by speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance; however, it is continually evidenced by the fruit and gifts of the Spirit.
-
As believers, we are to follow Jesus in water baptism. As we are immersed in the water, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we testify that the old person is dead and a new person lives.
-
As believers, we have the promise of healing provided through the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
-
Jesus gave us a promise that He would go away and prepare a place for us and then return to take us home with Him. We believe in the premillennial second coming of our Savior. We also believe after the tribulation we will reign with Him on earth for a thousand years.
-
As created beings, we have a body, soul, and spirit. In the time that is appointed for us to die, our spirit will live eternally. As believers, we will receive eternal life. As a sinner, we will receive eternal punishment.
